Turquoise is a basic hydrous copper aluminium phosphate which has been cultivated in the Sinai Peninsula since 3400 B.C. The Egyptian queen Zer’s bracelets were realized with carved turquoise coming from this same peninsula and they are considered the oldest jewels in the world.
